Tested as a plus athlete in the off-season prior to his junior season at 6-foot-3.5, 212 pounds. Transferred to IMG Academy for his junior season. Will need to hammer down a long-term position once he assimilates to the IMG program.

Jonathan Echols is a Franklin, Georgia, native that transferred to IMG Academy, a football powerhouse program in Bradenton, Florida, ahead of his junior season in high school. When he was at Heard County High School in Georgia, he played quarterback, receiver and defensive end. He plans on playing tight end in college, though. “I love playing on both sides of the football all about the same,” Echols told On3. “There’s something really fun about playing defense and getting after the quarterback. But I love making plays on offense. I want to play tight end at the next level.”
