Katie DeSimone is originally from Bay Shore (New York) St. Anthony’s High School. Prior to Duke, she was tabbed as the No. 5 recruit in the 2020 class by Inside Lacrosse Recruiting. DeSimone also played in the Under Armour All-American game three times, and she was named to the Under Armour All-American All-Tournament team in 2018. At Duke, she made an instant impact. DeSimone was named to the ACC All-Freshman team after ranking third on the team with 37 points (25 goals and 12 assists). In 2022, she racked up numerous awards throughout the season and after the season. She was an Inside Lacrosse All-American honorable mention pick, along with earning all-region and All-ACC second-team recognition. DeSimone is the daughter of Stephen and Kathy DeSimone. She has two older brothers, Stephen and Thomas. Stephen played lacrosse at Franklin and Marshall College (2015-19).
