Personal Life

Kayvon Thibodeaux was born at 10 pounds and kept on growing that he was 6-foot-2 by the time he was 13. He grew up in the rough area of South-Central Los Angeles and transferred to Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian for better academic and athletic opportunities. He would drive 80 miles roundtrip to school as a sophomore before he and his mom moved closer to the school. He was the No. 2 recruit in the 2019 On3 Consensus and USA Today’s California High School Defensive Player of the Year in 2018. He was a freshman All-American at Oregon and Coaches Pac-12 Freshman Defensive Player of the Year. In the COVID-shortened 2020 season, he won the Pac-12’s Morris Trophy as the conference’s best defensive lineman. In Sept. 2021, Thibodeaux launched his own foundation aimed at uplifting underprivileged children, The Jream Foundation. Jream stands for Journey to Readiness in Enrichment and Academic Mentorship. He launched his own cryptocurrency called $JREAM later that month. Tibodeaux loves playing chess. He wants to pursue a sports broadcasting career after football. He is the son of Shawnta Loice and Angelo Tibodeaux.
