Marcus Washington Scouting Summary
Charles Power
03/10/22

Among the more athletic top cornerbacks in the 2023 cycle. Consistently turns in sub-11.0 second 100-meter times with a personal best of 10.76 as a sophomore. Also tests as a top athlete in the combine setting. Pairs that athleticism with good size at 6-foot, 180 pounds. Primarily plays as a corner and safety for his high school. Shows some physicality as a run defender and on special teams. Relatively low impact in other phases of the game compared to other top corners who often play on both sides of the ball. Will need to continue improving his ball skills and overall playmaking ability.

Personal Life

Marcus Washington Jr. was born to play for the Georgia Bulldogs. He is the son of former four-star linebacker Marcus Washington, who played for Mark Richt. Washington was four months old when his dad signed with Georgia in 2005. He said spent plenty of time in the Bulldog locker room with his dad during his college days. He also lived in Athens for much of his life, so it was his lifelong dream to play at UGA. “It was just meant to be,” Washington said. It was also meant to be because Washington is one of the best recruits in the country. Even though teams did not throw at him in 2021, he recorded 48 tackles, three pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. He also averaged 15.4 yards a return. Washington also stars in track with a 10.76 100-meter-dash time, a 44-foot, 3-inch triple jump, and a 21-foot long jump.
