Personal Life

Nicholas Petit-Frere may have been a five-star offensive tackle out of Tampa Berkeley Prep but he wasn’t the typical weight of an offensive lineman. He was about 275 pounds when he arrived in Columbus, Ohio, and it took him a while to get to his current weight around 310-315 pounds. During the pandemic, he learned how to cook to help him continue his weight progress. “I got really interested in cooking,” Petit-Frere told The Columbus Dispatch. “That’s something I really love and enjoy doing a lot.” He said his No. 1 dish to cook is pasta in a meat marinara sauce. The weigh plan worked as he won the starting job at right tackle in 2020. In high school, he was nicknamed The Law Firm. He said he loves playing board games. When he plays Monopoly, he likes to the battleship. He is the son of Loris Petit-Frere, who is a first-generation American from Haiti. Petit-Frere is majoring in operations management at Ohio State.
