Nick Smith Jr. Scouting Summary
Jamie Shaw
01/24/22

Has a smooth game with a natural feel. He can score the ball at multiple levels with a confident pull-up game. Will need to add strength. Is crafty in the paint and can finish from different angles. Is a high-level mid-range player. Can get a team into sets but is more scoring guard than point guard. Struggles to finish at the rim. Gets bumped off his line very easily. Inconsistent effort on the defensive end. Has touch and range from beyond the arc and knocks it down off the catch, it can get streaky off the bounce.

Personal Life

Nick Smith arrived at Arkansas as the No. 3 overall recruit in the country coming out of North Little Rock High School in the 2022 recruiting class. During his senior season in high school, Smith was named the 2022 USA Today National High School Player of the Year, a McDonald’s All-American and was named co-MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic after scoring 27 points. Smith made one of the biggest shots of the season for the Razorbacks in his true freshman season – scoring the game-winning basket against Auburn in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. Smith used his strong resume entering college to make an impact through NIL, signing with top brands like Lids, Express and others.
