Norchad Omier signed with Arkansas State coming out of high school after spending a postgraduate year at Miami Prep. During his freshman season at Arkansas State, Omier was named the 2020-2021 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and was a first-team all-league selection after averaging 12.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.4 blocks. Then during his second season at Arkansas State, he was named the Sunbelt Player of the Year, Sunbelt Defensive Player of the Year and was a four-time league player of the week selection. He averaged 17.9 points and 12.2 rebounds for the Redwolves. He transferred to Miami for his third season of college basketball, and where he earned second-team All-ACC honors after averaging 13.3 points and 11.4 rebounds.
