Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy doesn't want Ollie Gordon to be defined just as a really talented running back. “Ollie’s got a magnetic personality,” Gundy said. “The people around (Stillwater) really enjoy and love him. He’s done an unbelievable job of building his brand. At the end of the season, he has spent more time at girls’ softball games, basketball games, working in elementary schools... he went above and beyond to give out to people.” Gordon won the Doak Walker Award and was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year after the 2023 season that saw him rush for 1,732 yards and 21 rushing scores. “We put him in the pistol, which is basically the old I-formation, and said we want him to run downhill and make a cut," Gundy said. "That’s his strength. Where we had a real advantage, and we didn’t know it was, he has a lot better vision than what we thought. He’s a big powerful runner that can make a sharp cut. During the season we saw him become a very good runner with vision.”
