Phil Jurkovec was an On3 Consensus four-star recruit coming out of Gibsonia (Pennsylvania) Pine-Richland in the 2018 recruiting class. Jurkovec signed with Notre Dame out of high school and spent two seasons with the Fighting Irish as a backup. He transferred to Boston College in 2020 and earned the starting job right away, putting up the best numbers from an Eagles quarterback since Matt Ryan. But he dealt with injuries in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. In eight games played in 2022, Jurkovec totaled 1,711 passing yards with a 59.5% completion rate and an 11-8 touchdown-to-interception ratio.
