Personal Life

Quentin Johnston was an On3 Consensus four-star recruit and top 100 national prospect coming out of Temple, Texas, in the Class of 2020. He made an early impact for the Horned Frogs. Johnston averaged a team-high 22.1 yards per catch, which was the highest by a true freshman in Big 12 history. As a sophomore, he led the Horned Frogs in receiving yards (634), yards per reception (19.2) and touchdown catches (six). He was honored as a first-team All-Big 12 pick in 2021. Johnston bettered those numbers in 2022, helping lead the Horned Frogs to the national championship game. Against Michigan in the College Football Playoffs semifinal, he had six receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown. “The kid’s an extremely hard worker and a great person to be around,” quarterback and Heisman Trophy-runner-up Max Duggan said. “He wants to show up and grow to work. He wants to practice. He wants to do all the little stuff and the dirty stuff. He wants to lift weights.
