Roydell Williams arrived at Alabama as a top-10 ranked running back and the No. 4 overall prospect in Alabama's 2020 recruiting class. During his time at Hueytown (Alabama) High School, Williams accounted for three straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons and finished with 5,929 yards and 84 rushing scores. Williams saw some playing time in 2020, rushing for 71 yards in eight games of action. Before suffering a season-ending injury, Williams had established himself in the Crimson Tide's deep rotation at running back in 2021, finishing with 284 yards and a touchdowns. Williams returned to full health in 2022, racking up 250 yards and four scores on 56 carriers. Williams made even more of an impact in 2023, starting for the first time in the SEC Championship Game and rushing for 61 yards and a score.
