Personal Life

Since less than 1% of high school athletes get the honor of playing D1, less than 4% are blessed with this size, strength, talent, and ability to play D2, and just a few more at D3, NAIA, and JUCO, why do I have the audacity to believe I could be one of those few? As as Freshman Varsity Starter at Right Tackle my tangibles are, work-ethic, desire, strength, and a god-given combination of size and speed, and my knowledge that nothing is given in this life and everything worthwhile requires hard work and unwavering Faith and stamina to earn. Football has already given and taught me so much in terms of resiliency, being coachable, the importance of positive relationships and teamwork, and the ability to learn and grow from adversity. From an early age, my parents divorce and my mother's efforts to keep me from my father taught me life isn't fair, but Football is and always has been. It's a place where hard work, accountability, integrity, and effort produce results. By doing and standing up for the right things you build positive relationships with coaches, teammates, fans, everyone; creating a climate and culture of support and success, and the results follow. Life makes sense on the field, in the weight room, locker room, and at school. Being part of a custody battle that lasted half my life none of that rang true. Football saved me. I love and owe this game everything. It gave me father-figures, brothers, and a family when I needed them most, confidence in myself and my abilities, and a place to constructively unleash all of my frustration with my family situation while the family court judges did nothing to help. Through my Faith, and God's Grace and many blessings, I have overcome so much, and remain convinced that I can and will overcome any challenge or obstacle. With that knowledge, I intend to serve as a team leader and a source of inspiration and strength on our team and in our school and community. Ultimately, through success on the field and in the classroom, I will use the talents I develop as a student-athlete to serve as a role-model and advocate for kids and families.
