Sofia Bell is the daughter of Greg Bell, who played for the Oregon men’s basketball program in the mid-1980s. She grew up a huge Oregon fan, so it was almost meant to be when she picked the Ducks over an intense recruiting battle between Oregon, Cal, Gonzaga, Notre Dame, Oregon State, Stanford, USC and Washington. During her sophomore season at St. Mary’s High School, she averaged 19.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists before leaving school to join the Cal Stars, a top club team in Northern California. She helped lead the team to a Nike Girls Elite Youth Basketball national title.
