Spencer Sanders was a four-year starter at Texas power Denton (Texas) Ryan, throwing for 8.747 yards in his career and winning 30 straight regular season games. He was the Gatorade State Player of the Year and Dave Campbell’s Texas Football’s Mr. Texas Football during his senior season. Sanders redshirted his first year on campus before exploding as the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year in 2019. He earned All-Big 12 honorable mention as a sophomore and was All-Big 12 first team as a junior. Sanders battled through injuries through the 2022 season, but he still passed for 2,642 and 17 touchdowns with nine interceptions. After the 2022 season, Sanders entered the Transfer Portal. Sanders is a university studies major. He is the son of David and Carrie Sanders. His sister Carissa Sanders played soccer at North Texas from 2015-18, starting almost every game in her career and winning four C-USA regular season titles. She finished her career as the 2018 C-USA Tournament Defensive MVP.
