Trey McBride was an athletic marvel growing up in Fort Morgan, Colorado. He was all-conference in football all four years of high school and team MVP his junior and senior seasons. He is Fort Morgan High’s all-time leader in points scored for the boys’ basketball team and home runs and RBIs for the baseball team. He then went off to Colorado State, where he started five games as a freshman. He started 11 games in 2019 and earned a spot on the All-Mountain West first team. He was named a captain as a junior and was named second team All-Mountain West. McBride is the son of Kate and Jen McBride. He was fathered by a sperm donor, and he said in 2019 he has no interest in discovering who the donor is. His older brother, Toby McBride, was a three-time high school state champion wrestler and plays with Try at Colorado State. His twin brother, Dylan McBride wrestled for a season at Western Colorado. The family has ha plenty of pets over the years, including dogs, cats, ducks, geese, horses, emus and llamas.
