Scouting Report
Soft-handed target who projects as an in-line tight end long-term. Has a big frame at around 6-foot-5, 225 pounds. Should be able to fill out in the 250 pound range after time in a college strength program. A reliable target in the passing game, showing the ability to extend for high-point grabs. Also shows off his catch radius in scooping low thrown balls off the dirt. Most effective in working in the short and intermediate areas of the field. Primarily used in that fashion at the high school level. Caught 42 passes for 462 yards and two touchdowns as a junior. Has good play strength and projects as an effective blocker at the next level. Can continue improving his play speed to help in separating within routes and helping in picking up yards after the catch.

Personal Life
Ty Lockwood calls himself a student of the game, and even though he was heavily recruited, he said he continues to work hard at getting better and better. Yet, there’s a lot to already like about his game. “I love to have the ball in my hands,” he said. “I love catching, running routes. That’s what I kind of pride my game off of. And I can block, too. I try to be as complete as I can but running routes and catching are my favorite things to do in all of football.” Lockwood isn’t sure what he wants to major in during his time in college, but he’s thinking about business. Away from football, he enjoys playing video games and is a member of the school’s honor roll. His parents are April and David Lockwood. His siblings are Dylan and Morgan Lockwood.
