Tyler Kolek began his college career at George Mason, where he was named the Atlantic-10 Conference Rookie of the Year in the 2020-2021 season. He started 18-of-22 games for the Patriots and averaged 10.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He then transferred to Marquette, where he led the Big East in average assists per game during the 2021-2022 season. Kolek continued to emerge as one of the top players in the country during the 2022-2023 season. He was named Big East Player of the Year and third-team All-American with an average of 18.7 points, seven rebounds and five assists throughout the season.
