Weston Davis' developmental upside, lean and long frame and movement skills remind us of former five-star Broderick Jones at the same stage. Both were basketball-first athletes before making the transition to football.

Weston Davis Scouting Summary
Charles Power
04/18/23

Light-footed, flexible offensive tackle with one of the higher developmental upsides among offensive linemen in the 2024 cycle. Measured in at over to 6-foot-5, and north of 280 pounds in the spring prior to his senior year. Has plus length for the position with arms that have measured over 35-inches. Was a basketball-first athlete prior to taking up football in high school. Still relatively new to the game, but has shown considerable upside. Has high-end movement skills. Easily works to the second level as a run blocker and has burst and bounce in his movements. Shows budding physicality as a run blocker and works to finish blocks. Has the natural skill set to develop into a gifted pass protector. Will need time to gain strength and mass along with honing his technique. Should benefit from a redshirt year and time in a college strength program. Doubles as a contributor on Beaumont United’s nationally-ranked basketball team.

Personal Life

Weston Davis is a two-sport star at Beaumont (Texas) United. Along with accolades on the football field, Davis is a star basketball player for one of the top programs in the Lone Star State. Davis told Rivals.com that playing basketball helps him be a better football player. “Basketball really helps my footwork and conditioning,” Davis said. What makes Davis' rise to a nationally recruited football prospect even more impressive is he didn’t play football until he arrived at high school. “I just need to get more down on the fundamentals of football before I go to college,” Davis said following his junior year. “I just need to understand more about what I need to do at my position. I've only played 22 games of football my whole life.”
