Personal Life

Zay Flowers dedicates his success on the football field to brother – Martin Flowers – who was tragically shot and killed in 2017. “I have to do this for my brother,” he said at the time. “Everything I do moving forward will be for him.” Using that motivation, Flowers developed into one of the best football players in college football during his time at Boston College. Flowers was a three-star recruit coming out of Fort Lauderdale (Florida) University School in the Class of 2019. Flowers signed with Boston College and made an instant impact, including starting two games as a true freshman. As a sophomore, he was a first-team All-ACC pick, becoming just the second BC receiver to earn the honor in school history. In the 2021 season, he earned third-team all-league honors. He continued to break out as a senior, earning third-team All-America recognition after setting the BC single-season mark in receiving touchdowns (12) and tying the record for receptions in a season (78). He also produced the third most receiving yards in a single season with 1,077. Flowers’ parents are Willie Flowers and Jackie Walden. He has 13 siblings.
