Zoom Diallo Scouting Summary
Jamie Shaw
05/16/23

Zoom Diallo is a physically developed point guard with good length and broad shoulders. He plays with a confidence on the ball and at his own pace. He is capable of getting into the paint and finishing through contact. He uses a crafty change of pace with a hard dribble. In viewings, Diallo has seemed most comfortable as a score-first lead guard. Diallo can be a slick passer, sneaking passes into tight spaces at times. He does have range as a jump shooter, looking most comfortable off the bounce. He needs to reign in his shot selection. Much of his offense can be all the way at the rim or off-balanced beyond the arc. Will sometimes opt for a tough shot over the right read. Has a good change of pace which enhances his first step.

Personal Life

Vazoumana “Zoom” Diallo led Tacoma Curtis Senior High School to the Washington Class 4A state championship as a sophomore and he averaged more than 20 points a game in his junior season. Diallo has been playing varsity basketball ever since he was in the eighth grade, so he’s been working hard for the moment when he emerged as one of the top high school basketball players in the country. “As I was growing up, I trained and trained for this,” Diallo told SBLive.com. “This is something I wanted. I wanted to have… my name out there. Now everything that comes my way, I use it as a motivation and a blessing. I remember when I got those first couple of offers, I went into the gym the next morning like it was motivation. I couldn’t stop working. So, everything that comes my way, like I am saying again, it is a blessing. It gives me motivation. It keeps me working. I am a bigger type of point guard. And my vision and my pace - I am not a rush guard. I am able to run a team, and I am able to do all the little things a guard can do.”
